Brian R. Greenier

December 5, 1954 — October 8, 2018

New Sweden - Brian Robert Greenier, 63, passed away after a courageous six-month battle with cancer on October 8, 2018 at the House of Comfort in Presque Isle with his wife, Reta (Moir) Greenier, and his son, Ryker Greenier by his side. He was born in Caribou on December 5, 1954 the son of Melvin (Casey) and Patricia (Lagasse) Greenier Sr. He attended Caribou High School and took some college courses. He worked at three different body shops in Caribou from 1972-1980 and in 1980 was offered an opportunity to change careers and moved to Massachusetts with his wife Reta. He worked at Bormann Brothers Moving/Rigging Co. from 1980-2007 and advanced from truck driver to the Vice President position. His profession was the heavy specialized trucking and machinery relocation business; he was also a crane operator. He moved from Massachusetts back to his Maine birthplace with his wife in 2007. He worked for JP Martin Construction from 2007-2009 as the Project Manager Assistant. Projects included the Hampton Inn, the Caribou Recreation Center, the Arch Hanger, and Fort Kent High School. He worked at Career Development Services at Loring Job Corps Center as a Commercial Driving Instructor from 2009-2017. He also was the Care Taker, along with his wife, for Heritage View Apartments in New Sweden, a 24-unit apartment building from 2015-2018. He retired January 2018. He was proud of the CDL program at Loring that he was involved with, that was operating over 125% of goal and the students were placed with commercial driving jobs. Brian worked hard and could always be depended on. His greatest pride was his son Ryker. He enjoyed traveling, golf, fishing, camping, cooking, boating, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, and hunting. He was proud of the two hunting trips that brought home a moose each time. He was a member of Monoosnock Country Club from 1997-2007, and during that time he was elected to the Board of Directors. He was a member of Nordic Lakers Snowmobile Club from 2007-present and was a Groomer Operator for 5 years. He and his wife were foster parents for several years.  He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Reta; his son Ryker; brother Melvin (Skip) and Diana Greenier of Windham; brother Robert Greenier and friend Virginia of Caribou; sister Tina and Mark Howell of Acworth, GA. He was predeceased by his father Melvin (Casey) and wife Patricia (Lagasse) Greenier Sr., his sister Sharon Graham of CA, and his brother Terrance (Terry) Greenier of Caribou. He also has many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his very special mother-in-law Vesta Moir. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5-7 pm where an evening memorial service will be held at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Church, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11 a.m.  Interment to immediately follow at the Woodland Cemetery.  Following the services all are invited to the Caribou Inn and Convention Center for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments.
