Van Buren – Gordon J. Ouellette, 73, died September 9, 2023 in Eastport following a period of declining health. He was born in Cyr Plantation, January 21, 1950 the son of the late Leo and Gertrude (Martin) Ouellette. He was a 1969 graduate of Van Buren District High School. From 1970-1976 he served with the United States Army. Gordon owned his own grader construction company for many years along with an auto detailing business in Van Buren. He worked for Maine Soil Conservation and later employed by J.D. Irving until his disability. He is survived by his siblings, Kenneth Ouellette and wife Linda of Cyr Plantation, Donald Ouellette and wife Carmen of Van Buren, James Ouellette and wife Dorothy of Lewiston, Janet LaPierre and husband Andy of Cyr Plantation, Linda Cormier and husband Dave of Albuquerque, NM, and Roland Ouellette of Van Buren, his daughter, Mika Ouellette, many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ouellette was predeceased by three brothers, Roger, Armand, and Russell. Graveside services with military honors will take place in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 1PM.
