Glenice M. Cote, 92, passed away on May 2, 2026, in Howland. She was born on September 28, 1933, in Caribou, the daughter of Alonzo and Edith (Jandreau) Keaton Sr.
Glenice worked for the Caribou School Department as a cafeteria employee, beginning at the Intermediate School in 1973 and later at Caribou High School until her retirement in 1995. She took great pride in her work and fondly remembered many of the students she served over the years. Glenice loved baking and was well known for preparing a pan of squares for any occasion.
On July 3, 1976, she married Wilfred Cote, and together they shared 46 happy years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling along the coast of Maine and spending time at the casinos.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Michaud and his wife, Debbie, of Caribou; her daughter, Peggy Nichols and her husband, Tracey, of Zellwood, Florida; her stepson, Ken Cote and his wife, Michele, of Papillion, Nebraska; her sister, Nina Laychak and her husband, Fran, of Trumbull, Connecticut; her brothers, Hubert Keaton of Caribou and Dana Keaton and his wife, Julie, of Easthampton, Massachusetts; and her brother-in-law, Lionel Lacombe of Lincoln. She also leaves behind five beloved granddaughters—Angie Michaud, Nichole Cote, Jennifer Chisholm, Casey Felix, and Michelle Garcia—along with eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred, in 2023; her sister, Omerine Lacombe; and her brothers, Rogis Keaton and Alonzo Keaton Jr.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Cummings Healthcare in Howland, where she resided for the past three years, and to Bristol Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Glenice and her family.
