Washburn – Gertrude J. Howard, 90, passed away May 11, 2018. She was born in Grand Falls NB, Canada, on July 25, 1927, the daughter of Harold and Beatrice (Jenkins) Watters of Plaster Rock, NB, Canada. She married George Howard Sr. and moved to Washburn in 1946. Mrs. Howard is survived by her three children, son Gary Howard and companion May Rivard of Washburn, daughter, Jane and her husband Jack Metzner of Oak Run, CA, and son George Howard Jr. of Washburn. Four grandchildren Timothy Howard and wife Kidist and their son Daniel of Washington, DC., Elizabeth Moehlen and her husband Martin and their son William of New Orleans, LA., James Metzner and his wife Jill, and their children Ashton and Jack of Las Vegas NV, Julie Valpoon and her husband Travis and their daughter Alyssa of Oakland, CA., sister Carolyn Martin of Amherst, NS, Canada and a special niece Linda Wishart of Moncton, NB, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and sisters Doreena Wishart and Anna Watters of Plaster Rock, NB, Canada. Mrs. Howard loved her flowers, knitting and crossword puzzles. She will be missed by all her loved ones. At her request, there will be no memorial service.
