Germaine M. Albair

d. October 13, 2025

Caribou-Germaine M. Albair, 100, passed away peacefully October 13, 2025 at Caribou. She was born in Frenchville February 26, 1925 the daughter of the late Joseph and Regina (Gagnon) Bouchard. Germaine grew up in a large and loving family being one of 13 children. In her early years the family moved to Caribou. After high school, she proudly drove staff car for the base commander at Presque Isle AFB. Later she met and married the love of her life, Sam Albair. Together they built a small service station that grew and changed to become the iconic Sam’s Toyland and eventually Sams’s Sport and Ski. Germaine loved being outdoors as much as possible. She was an avid golfer, loved alpine skiing, gardening and summers at Cross Lake. Once in a while you might catch her riding her motorcycle from home to work. She loved playing cards from bridge to scat with her friends, family, and grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her warm personality, sense of humor, and ready smile. She loved spending time with all her family and became a beloved aunt to her nieces, nephews, and cousins on both sides, each of whom brought her great joy. Germaine’s faith in God was important to her. She was a devoted member of the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a member of the Daughter’s of Isabella, and a former member of the Lioness Club.

Germaine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Sandra Albair of Hampden. Her beloved grandchildren, Jered (Amy) Albair and Margaux  (Amar Singh) Albair and three great grandchildren, Grayson, Brynn and Bodhi. Many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Albair was predeceased by her husband Sam, and all twelve siblings. A service in her remembrance will be held in the summer of 2026. A very heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Caribou Rehab and Nursing for their loving care. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
