CARIBOU – Freeman Lloyd Cote, 89, died September 5, 2023 at his Caribou residence. He was born in Caswell, May 24, 1934 the youngest of 18 children of the late Louis and Idella (Walton) Cote. Freeman attended Caribou Schools, and owned and operated Cote’s Concrete for many years. He served with the United States Army. On September 2, 1972 he married Carol Ann Delong and together they shared 40 years of marriage before her death in 2012. Freeman enjoyed gardening, John Deere tractors, and making biscuits. He is survived by his daughter, April Sandstrom and husband Simon of Gorham, step-children, Tammy and husband Carlos Gonzalez of Perth Amboy, NJ, Lisa and husband Rick Bailey of Lexington, KY, Vaughn Dyer and wife Jan of Lexington, KY, Danny Dyer of Frankfort, KY, his grandchildren, Brooklyn and Lucy Sandstrom, his step-grandchildren, Erica, Mandy, Daniel, Drew, Dawn, Richelle, Christopher, Emily, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Mearl “Louie” Cote in 2003, and by all of his siblings. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1PM at the Evergreen Cemetery.
