Evelyn P. Dufour, 78 passed peacefully on May 11, 2024 at The Caribou Rehab and Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.  Evelyn was born December 21, 1945 to Herman and Bessie Hafford of Allagash, Maine.

She married the love of her life Gilbert Dufour in Caribou in 1976, they had a long and loving marriage of 44 years. In her marriage to Gilbert she brought two loving children, a daughter Donne and a son Adrien, 6 grandsons Brandon and his wife Savanna, Dan, Cody and his girlfriend Emily, Bradley, Tyler and Connor, 2 great grandsons Jaxson and Grayson, and a great granddaughter Kalli.

Nan loved her family dearly; she showed her love to all of them by providing support and comfort when they needed it most. She is loved and known as “Nan”, “Nannie”, or “Nanabun” by many. Nan loved to bake, cook meals, entertain in her home, and forged many friendships throughout her years. She was an avid scrapbooker, that enjoyed memorializing her loving memories of her friends and family.

Nan never shied away from hard work, she was never afraid to get her hands dirty while working at various local farms or factories. She was generous with her time and had a love for helping others. She was a member of the Caribou VFW Women’s Auxiliary; she took pleasure in working and playing bingo and thoroughly enjoyed serving veterans and their families.

Evelyn is predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years Gilbert, is survived by her daughter Donne and husband Kirk of Caribou, Maine; Son Adrien and wife Dianna of Farmington, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister Nancy and her husband Leonard Bosh of Vernon, CT and sister Rebekah Hafford of Ellington, CT. She was also predeceased by her parents, a sister Sylvia Cyr and a brother Herman Hafford. A special Thank You to the staff at the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Home for the excellent care they provided to her and her family during this time.
