Robert C. Ellinwood

CONNOR TWP and CARIBOU – Robert C. Ellinwood, 84, passed away December 5, 2018 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. He was born in Buffalo, NY, October 31, 1934 the son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Valentine) Ellinwood. Mr. Ellinwood joined the US Air Force, served during the Vietnam War, and retired from Loring Air Force Base after 20 years of service as an aircraft mechanic. He married Gwendolyn Lane on December 7, 1954. Bob was an active member of Gray Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as an usher for many years. He also served on the worship committee, was a lay speaker, chairman of the board of trustees for a number of years, and truly enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was a member and past Master of Caribou Lodge #170 A.F. & A.M., the Anah Temple Shrine, served as president of the Loring Sno Hawks and was a lifetime member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 64 years, Gwendolyn, of Connor, is one son, Robert Jr. of TX. Mr. Ellinwood was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence. Masonic memorial services will be held 1pm Friday, December 14, 2018 from the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church followed by funeral services with Rev. Tim Wilcox officiating. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. Following the services all are invited to visit with the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the church dining hall.
