Ellen S. Gendreau, 71, died May 4, 2026 at her Limestone residence. She was born in Fort Fairfield, April 15, 1955, the daughter of the late Ned and Rhea Gendreau. Ellen was a graduate of Limestone High School, and worked for many years for the City of Caribou as the General Assistance and Ambulance billing administrator. She was a graduate of Limestone High School, and was a longtime member of the Parish of the Precious Blood St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone where she was a member of the St. Louis Music Ministry for over 20 years. Ellen was also a Salvation Army volunteer representative for over 34 years. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings Vernon Gendreau, Jeanine O’Bar, Lorraine Gendreau, and Velma Brown, as well as her longtime partner, Preston “Prep” Dumond. She is survived by her son, Todd Barnes, of Limestone, her grandson, Joshua Barnes of Auburn, two sisters, Judy Bell and Annette Tardy both of Limestone, and two brothers Joseph Clarence Gendreau of Clarksville, TN, and Reynald Gendreau of Reading, PA, several nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held at Mockler Funeral Home on May 26 at 11;00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Louis Cemetery, Limestone.
