Elizabeth P. Beaulieu

July 7, 1927 — June 9, 2021

CARIBOU - Elizabeth P. Beaulieu, 93, passed away on June 9, 2021 in Limestone.  She was born in Caribou, on July 7, 1927, to Leon and Roseanna (Paradis) Plourde.  Elizabeth attended Lyndon Center School, Holy Rosary School and graduated from Caribou High School in 1944.  She married Lawrence C. Beaulieu on July 1, 1946.

Elizabeth was employed as Office Manager at the T.W. McLauchlan Agency for 46 years and at the Kieffer Insurance Agency for two years, retiring in 1991.  She was a Charter Member of Aroostook County Insurance Women and named Insurance Woman of the Year twice.  In her earlier years, Elizabeth loved spending time at a camp that she and her husband built on Little Madawaska Lake.  She enjoyed BBQ's with family, swimming, boating and water skiing.  She also loved snowmobiling and dancing at Pete's Maple Grove Club in Sinclair with best friends Arline and Alphy St. Peter.  In her later years, Elizabeth loved spending time with family and friends and playing Scrabble, Bingo and doing word find books.

Elizabeth was a member of the Parish of the Precious Blood, a member of the Daughter's of Isabella, the Ladies of St. Anne, and Catholic Golden Age.  She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxilliary, Caribou Historical Society, Senior Bingo and Business Professional Women, having been named BPW Member of the Year and Woman of the Year. 

Elizabeth is survived by her two daughters, Paula Rockwell and husband Keith of North Port, Florida and Judy Bougie and partner Mark Jones of Caribou, grandchildren Christopher Rockwell and wife Debbie of Dover, New Hampshire, Ryan Bougie of  New Sweden, and Erin Bougie and husband Brian Allen of Arlington,Virginia, great grandchildren Elizabeth and Jackson Rockwell and Zoe Allen.  Also surviving are sisters Theresa Andrews of Caribou, Florence White and Anne Plourde of Massachusetts, and brothers, Joseph Plourde of South Carolina and George Plourde of Oklahoma.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1999 and her sisters Emma Whitt of Tennessee, Mary Phelan of Caribou, Louise Espling and Cecile Espling of Woodland, Laura Sweeney of New Sweden, Regina Beaumier of Connecticut, and brother Louis Plourde of Massachusetts.

Elizabeth left a legacy of fond and cherished memories that will live on forever in the hearts of everyone whose lives she touched.  The family would like to express gratitude to the caring and loving staff at the Rising Hill Assisted Living Facility in Limestone, where Elizabeth resided for the last several years.

Friends and family may visit from 10-10:45 A.M. on Tuesday, June 15 at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou with Father David Raymond presiding. Interment will follow in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
