New Sweden – Edward B. Cowan, 77, died November 18, 2023 at Caribou, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Damariscotta, November 2, 1946, the son of the late Theodore and Virginia (Atwater) Cowan. He served in the US Air Force, retiring as Staff Sergeant following 20 years of service. Following his retirement, he was employed at Ouellette’s Variety in Caribou for many years. Surviving in addition to his wife, Jo-Ann White Cowan of New Sweden, are his 3 children Michael Cowan and wife Shannon of Connor Twp., Edward Cowan of Caribou, and Angela Fuller and husband Sam of Caribou, 1 sister Janine Bates of Florida, 3 grandchildren, Joseph Cowan and wife Crysta, Cassidy Stevens and significant other, Andrew Christie, and Serenity Fuller. 2 great-grandchildren Emelia Cowan and Maddilynn Cowan, several nieces and nephews. Private family funeral services with military honors will be held at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
