LIMESTONE – Roch J. Dupre, died May 25, 2023 at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou following a period of declining health. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on April 5, 1926 the son of the late George and Maria (Menard) Dupre. Roch attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Schools, and then enlisted in the United States Navy on July 20, 1943. Roch served during World War II as a motor machinist mate aboard L.C.I 233 (landing craft infantry) in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was discharged in April of 1946 and returned to New Bedford where he joined the Army-Air Force in December of 1946. Roch spent the end of his career at Loring Air Force Base, where he retired as Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) in 1968. Following his military retirement, he worked at Loring Federal Credit Union. Roch was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was also active in the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of over 73 years, Agnes (Waters) Dupre of Caribou, one son, Joseph J. Dupre of Limestone, grandchildren, Joseph J. Dupre, and Michael J. Dupre both of TN, Roch J. Durpre II of IN, Eric Dupre and Christopher Dupre both of Maine. Roch was predeceased by a son, Roch Dupre. Graveside services with military honors will be held at a later date.
