Douglas Conley

June 21, 1970 — April 21, 2021

Caribou – Douglas Paul Conley, 50, died April 21, 2021at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was born in Presque Isle, June 26, 1970, the son of Paul Conley and Nancy (O’Clair) Conley. Doug was a graduate of Washburn High School and following graduation served as a Corporal in the US Marine Corps, where he was a member of the Presidential Guard for George H.W. Bush. He was foreman for McCain Foods in Easton for eight years and head of maintenance at Park Ridge Living Center in North Carolina and more recently at a Place for All Seasons in Caribou. He married Kara Vierkorn August 22, 2020. Doug was active in scouting and Young Marines program and was forever a fan of George Jones, John Deere and the Patriots. He loved spending time with his family and huge extended family and friends. Many will remember Doug for his style, humor, and readiness to help and assist anyone. He is survived by his wife Kara of Caribou, his mother Nancy of Hendersonville, NC, his father and stepmother Paul and Orlette of East Flat Rock, NC, two sons, Carter Conley and his girlfriend Kara Madore and Colton Conley and fiancé Mercedes Haines all of Caribou, one brother Dennis Conley and wife Sherry of Flat Rock, NC, one sister Jennifer Thompson and husband Jerry of Hendersonville, NC, his three beloved grandchildren, Addylin, Jameson, and Lennox Conley, two nieces and a nephew, Amber Thompson, Makayla Conley and Dylan Conley and wife Katie, a great-nephew Sawyer. His children and grandchildren will forever miss their father and grandfather but are grateful to have their mother Vicki and the St. Peter family. Douglas is predeceased by his first wife of five days, Laura Leonard Conley. We can be comforted because we know Doug is now having the best reunion with loved family members and Norm. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 pm Monday, April 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Tuesday, from the Chapel of the Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating.  We ask that guests practice social distancing, wear a face covering, and be mindful that only a limited number of people are allowed in the building at a time. Interment with military honors will be at a later date at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
