Douglas W. Bell, 67, died May 21, 2026 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle following a brief battle with ALS.

He was born in Caribou, February 14, 1959 the son of the late Wilfred and Cecile (Martin) Bell. Doug attended the Holy Rosary Catholic School and was a 1977 graduate of Caribou High School. On August 25, 1978 he married Rebecca Robbins. Doug began his working career in high school at the Caribou IGA Food Liner and following his high school graduation he attended the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro. Doug was employed by the Caribou Police Department from 1977 to 1984.
