Caribou – Doris V. Pelkey, 93, died November 15, 2021 at Caribou. She was born in Caribou, February 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dina (Sirois) St. Peter. Mrs. Pelkey was a graduate from Caribou High School. On February 5, 1947 she married William “Bill” Pelkey. She was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Ladies of Sainte Anne, Seniority Club, Catholic Golden Age and the Holy Rosary Funeral Choir. Doris was also a member of member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and was a life member of the VFW Post #9389 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Pelkey was predeceased by her husband William, in May 1987 after over 40 years of marriage, a brother, Edmund St. Peter and his wife Ora, 2 sisters, Aleda Lajoie and Audrey Ambrosia. She is survived by 2 sons, Rodney and wife Carol “Kitty” Pelkey of Mars Hill, and Douglas and wife Joann Pelkey of Presque Isle, 1 daughter Susan and husband Myron Warner of Charleston, 3 grandchildren, Eric Pelkey and partner Shawna Traugh, Ethan Pelkey, and Lauren Terreri and husband Peter, two great-grandsons, Peter David Terreri and Joseph Anthony Terreri, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 9:30am until 10:30am at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am, Thursday, at the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Caribou. Interment will be held in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
