CARIBOU-Donald Earl Wark, 83, passed away February 22, 2011 into the hands of his loving God and Savior. Donald passed surrounded by family, after a long illness. Donald was born on December 6, 1927 to Robert and Effie (Nickerson) Wark in Caribou, Maine. He served with the US Army during WWII. Don was a tire salesman in the local area for many years until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Lister- Knowlton Post #9389 VFW. Donald was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Arline (Bourgoine) Wark, they were married November 11, 1949. Surviving Donald are six children: Dawn (Wark) Michaud of Vassalboro, Cheryl (Wark) Parziale of Friendship, David Wark of Des Lacs, North Dakota; Rodney Wark of Terryville, CT; Lori (Wark) Holman of Caribou, and Jon Wark of Caribou, Donald will be remembered fondly by sons-in-law David Michaud and Boyce Holman, and daughter-in-law Cheryl (Wright) Wark. Mr.Wark was the proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren, Kristopher Michaud of Hartland, Erika Tardiff of Bristol, CT; Jason Wark of Caribou, Janelle (Wark) Zeigler of Caribou, Ryan, Amanda, and Michael Wark of Terryville, CT; Justin and Brandon Holman of Caribou, Sara and Jonas Lane of Los Alamos, NM. Four great grandchildren survive him: Emberli Michaud, Madison and Jillian Zeigler, and Parker Wark. Donald was predeceased by five brothers and one sister; Howard, Alexander, Henry, Franklin, Burton, and Audrey (Wark) McNeal. Surviving sister-in-laws are Emma Cote, Beatrice Beahm, and Pat Rolfe. Donald is survived by one brother-in-law, Elson Cote. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou, Friday, February 25, 2011 from 2:00pm until time of services, which will be held at 4:00pm, from the chapel of the funeral home, with Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Spring interment will full military services will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to contribute in memory of Donald may do so in the name of Donald and Arline Wark, to The Pilgrim Hone in Caribou, in care of Central Aroostook ARC, 25 Lombard St, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
