Delbert W. Anderson

New Sweden-Delbert W. Anderson 83, died January 20, 2023 at Caribou. He was born in New Sweden May 4, 1939 the son of the late Gustaf and Louise (Landeen) Anderson.  Mr. Anderson attended the New Sweden and Caribou Schools and served with the US Army. He married Helen Johnson November 26, 1960 and she predeceased him in 2019 after nearly 59 years of marriage.  Over the years, Delbert was employed by Brescia Construction, Harris Construction and the Maine Military Authority.   He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family, especially grandchildren Kirsten, Nick, Nevaeh and Abby. He is survived by his children; James Johnson Lebanon, PA, Craig Anderson of New Sweden, Sarah Anderson and partner John Haney and Gustaf Anderson and wife Heather, all of Caribou and Cheryl King of Machias; his siblings, Carl Anderson and Dale Anderson, of New Sweden and Marlene Griffith of Caribou.  Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by a son John and a daughter Sherry along with his sister Norma Landeen.  Friends may visit with the family Saturday January 28, 2023 from 12 noon until time of services at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou.  Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment will be in the New Sweden Cemetery in the spring.
