Claudette Carol Landeen, 66, died July 3, 2026 at her New Sweden residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Fort Kent, August 11, 1959, the daughter of the late Wilfred “Bill” and Armance (Marquis) Albert. Claudette attended Wisdom Schools and was employed as the school cook at New Sweden School for over 20 years, where many will remember her legendary homemade rolls and chicken stew. She married Sheldon Landeen September 10, 1976, and he predeceased her May 2, 2017. Claudette loved to cook, plant her flowers, and spend time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed being outside, taking care of her lawn, decorating for the holidays and hosting gatherings at her home.
She is survived by her sons Jason Landeen and wife Angela of Fort Kent, Andrew Landeen of New Sweden, and Jeffrey Landeen of New Sweden, her daughters, Dawn McCrossin and husband Seth of Caribou, and Stacy Engles of Madison, Alabama.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Maggie and Jacob Landeen, Rowan Landeen, Colby and Kaden Theriault, Braxton, and Lily McCrossin, Ryder, Adrian, and Olivia Engles, Jacob Landeen, and Owen Burby, six sisters and their spouses, Joan (Emile) Ouellette, Solange (Harold) Thibeault, Rena Mae Guilliance, Pat (Dave) Semrow, Marie Rita Albert, and Doreen Bouchard, four brothers and their spouses, Richard Albert, Roger (Peggy) Albert, Louis Albert, and Conrad (Roxanne) Albert, many nieces and nephews. In addition to being predeceased by her parents and her husband, Mrs. Landeen was predeceased by four siblings, Roland, Paul, Pauline and Theresa Albert.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Graveside services will follow in the New Sweden Cemetery with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating.
