Charles F. Tanzosh, 87, died August 8, 2026 at Caribou following a brief illness. He was born in Staten Island, New York, February 16, 1939 the son of the late Charles and Remigia (Cafasso) Tanzosh. Charlie attended Curtis High School in New York and served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was employed as the manufacturing manager for Thomas and Betts Electrical Fitting Company in New Jersey. He married Erma Akerson, and she predeceased him in 2022. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 27 in Fort Fairfield. He was also a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church and was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1934 in Fort Fairfield.

Charlie T. was an avid speed walker for many years and entered numerous road races in New Jersey and Staten Island. Following the attacks of 9/11 Charlie moved to Fort Fairfield and became very involved with the Tunnels to Towers Project. He is survived by two sisters, Theresa DeFazio, and Anne Marie Ward both of Staten Island, one brother John Tanzosh and wife Barbara of S. Amboy, NJ, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, August 14, 2026 at 10AM at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Following the services, all are invited to a time of continued fellowship at the Paul Lockhart Post 6187 V.F.W. in Fort Fairfield.
