Caribou – Patricia Chapman, 79, wife of the late Richard “Popeye” Chapman passed away peacefully January 26, 2020 at a Caribou Healthcare facility. She was born in Caribou, November 25, 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Belanger) Cowett. Patricia was educated in the Caribou school system and she married Richard Chapman August 22, 1959 and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2013. Patricia was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a lifelong devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Patsy cleaned houses for many area families as well as area businesses, and many will remember her for her cooking skills, especially her famous frosted cinnamon rolls. She is survived by six sons, Raymond of Savona, NY, Randy of East Hartford, CT., Rodney of Holden, Richard of Palm Springs, Calif., Rick and wife Karen of Caribou and Ryan and wife Sue of Old Orchard Beach, three daughters, Raeleen of Caribou, Rhonda and partner Ron of Caribou, Rebecca Green and husband Curtis of Freeport, two brothers Roland Cowett and wife Vicki of Caribou and Fred Cowett and wife Doreen of Plymouth, CT., four sisters Lorraine Montieth and husband Gary, Josephine St. Peter, and Marlene Cowett all of Caribou, Delores Morin and husband Roger of Glastonbury, CT., a brother-in-law, Murray Chapman of St. Albans, two sisters-in-law, Mavis Byram of Old Town and Athora “Torrie” Donaldson of West Hartford, CT., 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chapmen was predeceased by a brother Clarence and a dear friend Arlene Doody. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 9 am until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Thursday, from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Following the services all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshment at the parish hall.
