Chad Adam Gagnon, 42, died unexpectedly October 6, 2025 the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Presque Isle, on May 28, 1983. He was raised in Presque Isle, the son of Elizabeth (Soucier) and Kirk Lilley, and was a 2001 graduate of Presque Isle High School. Chad was a gifted mechanic, who worked at Jim’s Auto in Caribou. His coworkers and clients there became part of his extended family, especially Tammy and Jimmy Soucy. Above all, Chad was a family man. His children were his greatest blessing in life and he truly enjoyed instilling in the values he held near to his heart including to work hard and to have fun. He especially enjoyed working on cars with his family, and spending time in the woods. Chad loved to ride on “donkey trails” with the kids and would often come home covered in mud. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, and had a truly infectious smile. He had a heart that was bigger than he was.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Danielle (Tarbox) Gagnon of Presque Isle, his 8 cherished children, Mackenzey Tarbox, Jocelyn Gagnon, Justin Gagnon, Brett Tarbox, Gage Gagnon, Mikael McDougal, Brylee Gagnon, and Max Lilley, his father, Kirk Lilley, three siblings, Cassie Gagnon, Nathan Goodine and wife Chelsea, and Leland Paradis. Chad is also survived by several special extended family members. He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 1PM until 3PM at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Interment will be at a later date in the Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
