WASHBURN – Carey B. “Red” O’Neill, 69, died unexpectedly June 7, 2023 at his Washburn residence. He was born in Lincoln, January 26, 1954 the son of Kenneth and Geraldine (Hamilton) O’Neill. Red attended Limestone schools and worked for Aaron Turner Farms / Will-Turn Farms in Washburn for 18 years. He was an avid hunter, sportsman and machine operator. In his spare time, you could often find him working in his garage on vehicles for family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Trudy (Maynard) O’Neill of Washburn, and their children, Mellissa R. O’Neill and partner Gary Whitmore of Washburn, two grandchildren, Mason Burby and Tanar Rushinol, and a great-granddaughter, Flora Burby. He is also survived by a sister, Darlene, of Anchorage, AK. He will be missed by many, including his best friend, Ryan Goodine of Washburn. Red was predeceased by his parents, and by two brothers, Kenneth and Graydon O’Neill. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
