Washburn - Bernadette (Bern) Theresa Rossignol, age 91 of Washburn, departed this life on August 13, 2020. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church of Washburn. She was born on March 30, 1929 in Van Buren.
Bern loved her little house in Washburn and was able to stay at home until near the end made possible her very special friends Ardis Humphrey and Cheryl Bolstridge and by Rhonda and Judy, the wonderful people from the Aroostook Home Health Agency. She loved to bake. Her specialties were soft molasses cookies, homemade bread and penuche fudge which she loved to share with family and friends. She had so many wonderful friends who were so kind to her. She loved to make new friends and introduced herself as “Don the barber’s wife”.
She was raised in Van Buren. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Donat Rossignol of Van Buren, her parents Angelique (Michaud) and Leon Rossignol, her siblings, Alma Swanson, Delina Ouellette, Anita Piscitello, Leona Tardiff, Claire Charette, Renee, Fernand, Eugene, and Marie Rossignol, and Roselle Ouellette. Bern is survived by 6 of her 17 siblings, Lucille Scott, Percy, Phillipe and John Rossignol of Van Buren, Kenneth Rossignol of Connecticut, and Virginia Lucia of Massachusetts. Bern is survived by her children, Wayne Rossignol and Dave of Raleigh, NC, Robert Rossignol of Gorham, and Vicki Woodbrey and Kevin of Raymond.

Bern leaves a legacy of 6 grandchildren. Kelie Routhier and Mike, Kristie Weston and Kevin, Zachary Rossignol and Mallory, Casey Rossignol and Chris, Kyle Woodbrey and Erik Woodbrey. She leaves 5 great grandchildren, Will Routhier, Sophie and Jamison Weston, Charlie and Caedy McDonald.
