Jeannette Bell

CARIBOU – Jeannette M. Bell, 71, passed away October 25, 2019 at Presque Isle following a brief illness. She was born in St. Agatha, April 11, 1948 the daughter of Leo and Leona (Dufour) Thibeault. At an early age Jeannette went to live with Fred and Lucy LaFrancois who raised her and her siblings. She was a 1967 graduate of Caribou High School, earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of Maine at Presque Isle, and then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education. Mrs. Bell taught grade school in Florida for many years before retiring and returning back to northern Maine. She is survived by one son, Andrew Bell and wife Ashley of WI, one daughter, Leslie Ann Atkins of FL, three brothers, Roland Thibeault and wife Louisa of KY, Romeo Thibeault and wife Jetta of FL, and Paul Thibeault and wife Arlene of Sabattus, one sister, Marie Thibeault of Caribou, her foster brothers and sisters, Albert and Joyce LaFrancois, Robert and Bernadette LeBlanc, Gilford Thibeault, and Rose Beschler all of Caribou, six grandchildren, Evelyn, Lillian, Isaac, Jacob, Adeline Bell, and Anthony Campbell, whom Jeannette raised, A very specail family friend, Linda Dickinson of Caribou, many nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the spring, at a date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Southern Acres for the kind care and compassion that Jeannette was shown over the past 4 years.
