Beatrice (Bea) Arlene Paquin, 98, died January 28, 2026 at Maine Veterans Home Caribou. She was born in Old Town January 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Virgil and Gladys (Martin) Comstock. Growing up, her family moved frequently supporting Virgil’s career in Border Patrol, living in several areas throughout Maine and New Hampshire before settling in Madawaska where Bea finished her high school education.
Upon completion of nursing training at Mass General, she joined the Army and served in the Korean War. She was honorably discharged on December 10, 1954, as a First Lieutenant having been stationed in South Korea as well as Japan. Bea continued nursing in civilian life, retiring from Cary Medical Center after a long career of caring for others. She loved to read and worked then volunteered at the Caribou Public Library well into retirement. Bea and Joseph Owen Paquin were married in Caribou, Maine on September 3, 1963 and shared 62 years of marriage together. She is survived by her husband Joe; daughters Linda Collins of Manson, Washington, Deborah (Tom) King of Richland, Washington, and a grandchild Steven Dial of Ossian, Indiana who Bea & Joe raised. Bea is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Steven (Angie) Dial, Heather Tippen, Maya Neal, Shelly Collins, Larry Collins, Tina King, Susie (Mark) Nicol, Amy (Diego) Montes, Emily King, T.J. King and Danny King; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers-in-law Alice (William) Frederick and Avis (Roland) Michaud. Friends may visit with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou Tuesday February 3, 2026 from 12 noon until time of services. A service of remembrance and military honors will be held at 1pm at the funeral home. Memorials in Bea's memory can be made to the Maine Veterans Home (163 Van Buren Road, Caribou Maine). The family is grateful to the Maine Veterans Home where Bea resided since 2022 for the compassionate care she received.
