Anthony H. Thompson

Anthony (Tony) H. Thompson, 71, peacefully passed away on February 21, 2026, at the Aroostook House of Comfort, following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his cherished loved ones during his final days. Tony was born on May 2, 1954, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Wendell Lee and Betty Ann (Whitmore) Thompson. He proudly graduated from Caribou High School in 1972. For many years, Tony dedicated his career to Lanes Construction as a roller operator, a role he took great pride in. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Tony relished activities such as fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and motorcycle riding. He found solace in the tranquility of the woods, the excitement of the ride, and the sheer freedom of nature. Tony's journey was not without challenges, but it was uniquely his own. Amid storms and shadows, he sought the light—and often became that light for others. He experienced pain but also possessed the ability to bring smiles to those around him. He faced setbacks, rose to the occasion, and tried again. Ultimately, Tony leaves behind a legacy of resilience, reminding us that a life’s value is not determined by perfection, but by the love we share and the courage we demonstrate. He is survived by his companion, Diana King of Caribou; his children, Tina Harris and husband Mark of Caribou, Kristina Owren and husband Lars of Somers, CT, and Anthony Thompson and his fiancée, Mary Adams, of Stafford, CT; his siblings, Gregory and Melissa Thompson of Washburn, Belinda Hunt of Queensbury, NY, Sandy and Bert Ramsay of Salisbury, MD, Jay and Shelly Thompson of Caribou, and Ghent and Sandy Holdsworth of Caribou; his grandchildren, Kayla, Mara, Cole, Larsen, Abby, Kinley, and Hailey; his great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Evelyn; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his father, Wendell; his mother, Betty Holdsworth, and her husband, Arthur; his former wife, Doreen Jorgensen; as well as a brother-in-law, James Hunt. Graveside services are set to take place this summer at Green Ridge Cemetery, with the date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home.
