Thevictor’s crown, all honors, let them be to thee alone that gives the victory.” Ann Marie Whitehead, 52, passed away on October 13, 2017 at her home after a brief illness. Ann was born March 17, 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Edette “Dee” (Wickmann) Brockman. Ann was baptized, confirmed and married at Elm Grove Lutheran Church in Elm Grove, WI. Ann’s beautiful life will be remembered through her commitment to the service of this nation, her support of the community and her love of family and friends. Ann served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1983-1992. She then served the Air Force as a civilian in the Department of Defense from 1993-2017. Ann passionately supported various veterans’ initiatives and programs. Ann’s citizenship was exemplified through her lifelong support of the Boy Scouts of America, the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge, The American Cancer Society, and numerous other civic volunteer organizations. Ann cherished the experience of teaching Sunday school at the United Methodist Church in Limestone, Me. Ann leaves behind her beloved husband of 23 years, Robert Troy Whitehead, her son Nicholas Dalton Whitehead, her father Robert Brockman of Brookfield, WI, brother Paul Brockman of Arbor Vitae, WI, sisters Claire Carroll and her husband William Carroll of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Janet Brockman Schirripa of Waukesha, WI., mother-in-law Phyllis Powell of Vero Beach, Fl., sister-in-law Lynn Tracy and her husband Craig Phair of Portage Lake, niece and nephew Michelle and Ismael Maqueda and grand-nieces Giavanna and Lilyanna of Richfield, MN., niece Renata Schreiber and grand-nephew Dominic of Waukesha, WI., niece June Brockman of Arbor Vitae, WI., nephew Robert and wife Emily Brockman and grand-nephews Sam and Michael of Menomonee Falls, WI., nephew Ty Tracy of Phoenix, Az., aunt Marion Wellman of Milwaukee, WI., aunt and uncle Ruth and Kent Karohl of The Villages, Fl., uncle Frank Henry of Dallas, Pa. Ann was predeceased by her mother Edette “Dee” and Aunt Dorothea Henry. Friends may visit with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Caribou Veterans’ Cemetery.
