CARIBOU - Allyson Suzanne Armstrong, 53, died November 10, 2023 at Cary Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Portland on December 24, 1969, the daughter of William and Penney (Kachmar) Jones. Allyson attended schools in Cumberland and North Yarmouth and graduated from Greeley High School in 1988. During her youth she developed a passion for cross-country running and received many awards and accolades as an accomplished runner. She later earned an Associate’s Degree from Andover College. Most of her career was spent in the printing industry where she eventually worked in graphic design. Allyson enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and will be remembered for her sharp wit and laughter.
Allyson is survived by her parents, Penney Kachmar-Jones of Brunswick and William Jones of North Yarmouth, husband, Ward Armstrong of Caribou, her sons, Aaron Boyington and wife Juliette of Woolwich and Nicholas Tarling of Gray, step-daughters, Kendra Armstrong of Bath and Ashley Armstrong of South Portland, siblings, Andrew Jones and wife Jenni of Bath, Jason Jones and wife Melissa of Topsham, and Jessica Moulton and husband Jim of Auburn. She is also survived by grandchildren Camille, Lincoln, Walter, and Henry as well as special nieces and nephews. Services to be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the compassionate and kind staff at Cary Medical Center who took excellent care of Allyson during her final days.
