NEW SWEDEN – Cecilia Ann Chapman, 71, died September 3, 2019 surrounded by her family at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. She was born in Limestone, August 3, 1948 the daughter of the late Leonard and Eva (Daigle) St. Pierre. She was a 1966 graduate of Limestone High School. On February 24, 1968 she married Jeffrey Chapman. One of Cecile’s most cherished moments was the birth of her baby girl, Denise. She was employed as a medical transcriptionist at the Loring Air Force Base Hospital for a number of years and also owned and operated Little Bit of Home Restaurant in Caribou for many years. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church. Cecilia enjoyed gardening and loved animals of all kinds – cats dogs, and especially bears. Cecile was the most compassionate, caring person who would help anyone anytime and would give the shirt off her own back if needed. Surviving in addition to her husband of over 51 years, Jeff, of New Sweden, is her daughter Denise Chapman-McDonald and husband Paul of New Sweden, one brother, Theodore St. Pierre and wife Sally of Woodland, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers Augustine, Gregory, and Vincent. Friends may visit with the family Monday, September 9, 2019 from 12 pm until time of services which will be held at 2pm from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
